Description
This co-production represents the first critical edition of a florilegium known according to its place of preservation as "Berlin miscellany." It ranges among the most important testimonies of Church Slavonic literature, but due to its complex character and incomplete state of preservation poses special tests to science. H. Miklas succeeded in supplying the main part of the manuscript (State Library Prussian Cultural Heritage, Wuk 48) with a fragment from the Russian National Library in St. Petersburg and completed remaining losses on the base of parallel manuscripts. So the publication offers all preserved and doubtlessly reconstructable parts of the compendium (183ff.) in consequent sequence and chapter-division. Added we find a critical apparatus, a list of bible quotations, explanations of the editorial techniques, solutions of the abbreviations and a detailed overview of the contents. The second major part of the book contains a comparative linguistic study of the monument, followed by a list of manuscripts mentioned for comparison therein. The volume ends with a bibliography and a German resume of the Bulgarian chapters.
