English summary: In view of current social and political issues, critically examining the relationship between art, seeing and ethics is more important than ever. The study explores the subject in a targeted manner from the depths of historical space, taking a look at different artistic and philosophical positions such as those of Leon Battista Alberti, Ludwig Wittgenstein or Judith Butler. It examines the extent to which art as a reflective practice can promote active and attentive seeing and lead to an etho-aesthetic sensitization. At the same time, the power implicit in seeing is questioned and the handling of images of violence is addressed. The reflection on ethics of seeing and attention takes place in the awareness of the border areas of the visible and recognizable, which is indispensable for a differentiated handling of alterity. German description: Das Verhaltnis von Kunst, Sehen und Ethik kritisch zu beleuchten, ist in Anbetracht aktueller gesellschaftlicher und politischer Fragen bedeutsamer denn je. Die Studie lotet das Thema gezielt aus der Tiefe des historischen Raumes aus und nimmt so unterschiedliche kunstlerische und philosophische Positionen wie etwa Leon Battista Alberti, Ludwig Wittgenstein oder Judith Butler in den Blick. Es wird untersucht, inwiefern Kunst als reflexive Praxis ein aktives und aufmerksames Sehen fordern und zu einer etho-asthetischen Sensibilisierung fuhren kann. Zugleich wird dabei die dem Sehen implizite Macht hinterfragt und der Umgang mit Bildern der Gewalt problematisiert. Das Nachdenken uber Ethiken des Sehens und der Aufmerksamkeit findet im Bewusstsein fur die Grenzbereiche des Sichtbaren und Erkennbaren statt, das fur einen differenzierten Umgang mit Alteritat unabdingbar ist.
