The marriage of computer and communication technology has brought revolution in the information world. The libraries of the advanced countries have quickly adopted the new technologies and changed themselves accordingly. But the transformation has not been so easy for the libraries of the developing countries. The situation is no different with Bangladesh. This book reports the result of a research study to find out the problems and prospects of the University Libraries of Bangladesh in using ICT. A preliminary survey was conducted among all the Universities and the final in-depth survey is done among top ranked 22 Universities. The study covers literature review, growth and development of university libraries in global and local perspectives, development of IT and their usage in the libraries, a detailed analysis of the situation of the University Libraries of Bangladesh and finally presents a precise summary of findings, conclusion and recommendations. The book can provide a guideline to all stake holders of the university libraries of the developing countries to take necessary measures to improve the existing services of the university libraries.
