The Precambrian rocks represent 10% of the total exposed rocks in Egypt. The Precambrian rocks exposed in Eastern Desert in Egypt are composed of vast varieties of Pan-African basement rock types including metasediments, metavolcanics, gabbros, volcanics and different types of granitoid bodies. The Precambrian basement rocks are one of the economically important type of rocks; that many metallic & non metallic ores are mined from them; also these crystalline rocks could be used as source of ornamental stones; Therefore Precambrian fractured crystalline rocks play an important roles as groundwater reservoirs; Moreover, The Precambrian basement rocks had a special importance to be a reservoirs for oil production.
