Total Productive Maintenance has now become the most desirable methodology and considered as one of the significant operation strategy to increase the Overall Equipment Efficiency and to reduce production losses in many firms. But lack of knowledge regarding implementation of new strategy may develop the risk to unsuccessful implementation because every sheet metal industry cannot find it appropriate in all aspects which also give rise to their fear to failure. The author has contributed many researches while data collection and observed that in some cases the industrialists hesitate to bring changes in setup and maintenance scheduling but on the other hand they also want to take the best out of the equipments/ machines and workers without exceeding the limits of exhaustion. So to remove the barriers, the researchers have performed various experiments to bring the necessary changes in scheduling, setup up and maintenance and has understood the criteria to compete in market/ business by applying Total Productive Maintenance to increase the overall equipment effectiveness of the machines in the sheet metal industry.
