Description
Echoes of the polymetabolic syndrome X (about a potential gestational glucose intolerance and primary hypothyroidism in a French woman living in Dakar) lead us to make the following consideration In medical clinics, iodized nutrition has been distinguished in four cases by diabetes: calcium, an observation at the Paris hospitals week in 1988 and sweet in three cases in black African Senegalese women in the inaugural thesis of Marie safi tou ka-ciss in 1986. Iodine regulates nutritional metabolism probably via microbiota. Thyrodiabetes has been of concern to clinicians. Endocrine disruptors have come to remind us, if need be, that the thyroid gland is a sentinel of the environment which, according to our approach, testifies to the primordial role of mineral iodine in most living organisms. The study of 24 myxedemas from Dakar shows a frequency of 0.05% (average age: 45 years; endocrine angiopathy: hypertension: 52%; heart failure: 30%) marked by thyroid atrophy: 70% of cases. Myxedema in Dakar clinically illustrates the peptidology of the thyroid. Metabolic Perspectives ''Hypothyroidism Incipiens''.
