Description
Propagation of ion acoustic solitary waves in a plasma composed of kappa distributed electrons and positrons and inertial ions has been studied. The KdV equation is derived by applying reductive perturbation method. The dependence of potential profile on the superthermal parameters, wave speed and direction cosines have been studied. It is seen that the potential profile becomes narrower as the superthermal parameter and speed increases; while it widens as direction cosines increases. The width of stationary wave is higher for slower waves and approaches a constant value, which is high for high direction cosines.
