At the present time in the Republic of Belarus great attention is paid to the development of physical culture and sports. With the emergence of professional sport, public relations in this sphere have received a powerful impetus in their development and more acutely raised the question of the need to improve the mechanism of their legal regulation, including in the framework of civil law. Professional sport today is unthinkable without the activity of persons serving athletes, providing them with various kinds of services, including legal ones - sports agents (intermediaries). Comprehensive legal studies, directly dedicated to the activities of sports agents, neither in our country, nor in the entire post-Soviet space, have not been conducted, which ultimately affected the current legislation of the Republic of Belarus. This predetermines the need for a detailed consideration of the peculiarities of sports agents' activities. This also emphasizes the relevance and novelty of the topic of this work, which represents the first comprehensive study of the civil law regulation of relations related to sports agents in Belarusian civilistics.
