Goldar, Bishwanath
Bishwanath Goldar is Professor of Economics at the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi. He did M.A. in Economics in 1971 and Ph.D. in 1982 from the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University. He taught Economics at the Shri Ram College of Commerce from 1971 to 1979 and then joined the Institute of Economic Growth. He has been with the Institute of Economic Growth since 1979. He has worked as a Senior Fellow at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) during 1988 90 and as a Professor at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) during 2003 04.Professor Goldar specializes in industrial economics and international trade. His publications include a large number of papers on productivity, employment and wages in Indian industries, protection of Indian industries and trade reforms and an authored book entitled "Productivity Growth in Indian Industry "(1986). He has been associated with a number of important official committees, and is currently the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Industrial Statistics.
