The volume contains the proceedings of a seminar organized by the "La Colombaria" Academy on the occasion of the 480th anniversary of the publication of Nicolaus Copernicus' De revolutionibus. The contributions analyze from a historical and scientific point of view some aspects of the famous astronomer's work and its implications on civil life with the calendar reform.
