Towns and villages, particularly those distant from major urban centres, are expected to experience the most significant population decline, while the population share of the Seoul Metropolitan Area is likely to continue growing. Over the same period, the working-age population is forecasted to decrease from 71% to 46%, placing mounting pressure on public services.
