Humor and Satire have a long history in Urdu poetry. But its importance from the "Awadh Punch" period to the present is so great that its glimmers are rarely found in older poetry. Urdu poetry's satirical and humorous elements started to emerge during the Awadh Punch era, and they have never declined in quality thereafter. In this book, while presenting a review of satirical and humorous poetry from the establishment of Pakistan to 1980, the important poets of this era have been mentioned separately. Similarly, another chapter of the book covers the modern trends of satirical and humorous Urdu poetry from 1980 to 2008.
