This book presents a contemporary study of Urdu fiction. After independence, the themes of Urdu fiction have been changing. Partition, migration, poverty and other human and social issues were presented very well in Urdu fiction. In the fiction written on the subject of riots after partition, no communalism was encouraged, rather, Urdu fiction writers expressed human sympathy in their fiction. That era of Urdu fiction can only be called the golden age, while after the year 70, most Urdu fiction writers made new experiments in fiction. Modernity, abstraction and allegory were also part of the experiments of Urdu fiction. Symbolic and abstract fiction were also liked because along with the cultural evolution, the sharp vision of the individual provided people with the opportunity to reach the depth of the matter in the blink of an eye. Abstract fiction has also fulfilled this demand of the modern man to some extent.
