Dr. Ilyas Ishqi was a prominent Persian and Urdu poet, writer, translator, broadcaster and critic from Pakistan. He received his PhD degree by writing a thesis on the influence of the West on Urdu poetry. He was associated with Radio Pakistan for a long time and retired as Controller of Programmes. Dr. Ilyas Ishqi's literary journey spans five to six decades and in this long journey, he found new ways of literature and research. Apart from Urdu and English, he also worked in regional languages ??of Pakistan.
