Feminism in Arabic Literature (Essays): (Alnisawiat fi al'adab alArabi)

PUBLISHER Taemeer Publications (12/20/2024)
PRODUCT TYPE Paperback (Paperback)

Description

Women's literature is literature written by women. It is a relatively modern concept dating back to approximately the middle of the twentieth century, when women were given the opportunity to write and express in literature some of their feelings and visions. This means that there was a historical blackout on the status and role of women, which made them socially inferior and characterized by weakness and helplessness. What women have written throughout Arab history has been very little compared to men, reflecting their inferior social status. Therefore, they had to be liberated from the authority of society and get rid of a little of the dominance of male consciousness to discover their ability to write and express themselves.
