Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi was an Urdu poet, writer of short stories, dramatist, journalist, and literary critic. He authored fifty books on art, criticism, journalism, poetry, and fiction. He was a well-known author of modern Urdu literature and belongs to the Progressive Movement. His humanistic poetry stood out, and some people rank his Urdu afsana (short stories) second only to Munshi Prem Chand's portrayal of rural life. For nearly fifty years, he served as both the publisher and editor of the literary journal 'Funoon' and 'Adab-e-Lateef'.
