The book on 'Ethnomedicinal Plants of Maring Tribe, Manipur' is first of its kind among the Maring people. The study is primarily based on the survey on the use of ethno-medicines by the Maring tribe of Manipur in curing and healing various ailments, sicknesses and diseases prevalent among them. The Maring people had been using ethno-medicines since time immemorial but due to certain factors the practice had been declining. Factors like the death of the traditionally knowledgeable persons every year and the younger generations shying away from the traditional practices and paying more attention on the advance pharmaceutical medicines are few examples.
