The book"Rationale of Education" is the collection of author's essays, books and textbooks published in past decades and contains nine articles discussing books about educational theories and practice. This book focuses on educational research in three aspects: history and tendency, theory and philosophy, and administration and practice. It is divided into three parts and nine chapters in total. In the part of history and tendency: the first chapter explores the development and content of education research in half a century after 1917. The second one enquires the rising life-long education in 1980s. The third one discusses how to cultivate new generation citizens 21 century. In the part of theory and philosophy: In chapter one, the focus is on thinking the foundation of educational theories. In chapter two, it discusses the relationship between education theories and philosophy and its impact. In chapter three, it studies the association and its influence of modern epistemology and education. In chapter four, it reflects on moral education in our country from philosophical viewpoint. In the part of administration and practice: Chapter one investigates the application of systems theory in education administration. Chapter two considers the impact of a billowing wave of democracy on the campus and ways to cope with it.
