Dr. Berishaj's book in its broad concept encompasses several relevant dimensions, both while discussing the topic of borders on the general level and while discussing the problem of Albanian borders. History, ethnic aspects, political science and international relations, culturology, international legal aspects including the right to self-determination of peoples, problems of nationalism and its misuses are dealt with in a competent and balanced way. Although the focus is somehow on the borders of Albania and of the national problem (question) of Albanians, a divided nation, the book is in no way written as a claim but as an objective study of contempo-rary border problematique, in particularly in the case of Albanian borders. This, the objectivity and scientific neutrality is besides the broad and multidisciplinary approach, the book's main quality. It is a significant contribution for understanding of the problems of state borders in general and of understanding of the Albanian problem in particular. - Prof. dr. Ernest Petric
