Description
I thought I had it all figured out. For years now I've been working in a bar in downtown Seattle known for catering to the local population of bumps in the night, even though I was a mortal among creatures that would be just as happy to eat me as they were to tip me. I kept my head down, I did my job, and I like to think I've done a pretty good job of flying under the radar. I thought they hadn't noticed. I was wrong. Someone had been watching and managed to figure out what I was before I did, as well as how to use me as a weapon without my knowledge. Now the wolves in the city are dying rapidly and the area pack thinks I'm responsible for it. I'm trying to evade their justice, learn about this new power I've inherited, and figure out who's using my blood as a weapon before they do even more irreversible damage. My name is Matilda Whitacre and I'm suddenly longing for an evening where my biggest problem is day shift forgetting to stock the garnishes.
