A step beyond fear: How cancer made me stronger

AUTHOR Etta, Salvatore
PUBLISHER Independently Published (04/04/2025)
PRODUCT TYPE Paperback (Paperback)

Description

Talking about illness is always complex, but it is even more so when it comes to cancer. The very word carries a weight that few can understand without having lived it. It is a term that evokes fear, uncertainties, suffering, and, too often, a feeling of helplessness. Yet, it is precisely this reality that compels us to reflect and change our way of conceiving oncological illness. My personal story, which began in 2001, is the starting point of this change.

In 2001, when I was diagnosed with cancer, my life took a turn I could never have imagined. The impact of that diagnosis was devastating.

Initially, the world collapsed around me. But, over time, I learned that there is not only fear in cancer. There is also a possibility, a possibility to rediscover oneself, to grow, to transform.

That illness, which at first seemed like a sentence, became the engine of a profound inner evolution. Not only have I faced the physical and emotional challenges of illness, but I have also embarked on a long journey of discovery and training that has led me to a new life. I chose to enter the world of medicine to better understand the disease and, above all, to be able to help those who are on the same path that I had faced.
