Description
Francesco and Giuseppe, two experienced sailors, decide to embark on a fishing trip as they have done many times before. After organizing everything last minute, they set sail from Putzu Idu, in Sardinia, for a peaceful day of fishing. However, there's a small problem: Francesco, the older of the two, forgets the compass. While they are out at sea, far from the shore, they realize the mistake and try to navigate without the compass. But fate plays a cruel trick on them when a sudden storm hits, causing them to lose their course and drift further away from the mainland. In desperation, Francesco and Giuseppe struggle against the waves and wind to try to keep control of their boat. Days pass, and their situation becomes increasingly critical. Without food and with little fresh water, they must rely on their sailor skills to survive. They start to build a makeshift sail with what they have available and throw overboard all unnecessary weights to lighten the boat and increase their chances of floating until they are rescued. As they fight for survival, Francesco and Giuseppe face moments of despair but also of solidarity and hope. They support each other, sharing memories and hopes for the future. Meanwhile, back on land, their families are gripped with anguish and tears, while local authorities organize frantic searches to find them.
