Description

However, they are in danger when the treasure is discovered by thieves hiding in the cave. Tom and Huck become heroes when they testify in court and reveal the killer's identity. Tom also saves Becky when she's lost in a cave and they become closer as a result.
The novel ends with Tom returning to school, where he is praised for his courage and intelligence. He also learns an important lesson about accountability when he takes responsibility for a mistake made by one of his friends.
