Description
When Dani Scoville walks into the Three Bears Ski Lodge in Vermont she needs a job and a place to live or she will be sleeping in her car. The Vermont mountains seem like the perfect place to lay low and the last place her father will ever suspect. Greg Tall Bear is at his wit's end when Dani walks into his office and tells him she applied for the office bookkeeping position. He hasn't advertised for any help but he desperately needs what she is offering. Running the lodge alone in peak ski season has him going in too many directions and when she admits that she can't ski he hires her on the spot.
He soon discovers this attractive brunette is a quick study, charmingly efficient at handling the administrative details of the lodge and a very private woman. Of course he wants to know why this Texas woman is working at a ski lodge in the dead of a Vermont winter when she can't even ski.
Dani never expected to find love in the world outside of Texas. She never thought she'd have to tell anyone anything about her Scoville past or why she's hiding from her father. Then, she discovers Greg's Native American roots and she loves everything about her job at Three Bears lodge. If she doesn't come clean with him everything will end in disaster. Senator Clayton Scoville's politics deny everything Greg's family stands for and has accomplished and everything she believes is right. She is not going to stand on her father's political stage and deny her own beliefs.
If she doesn't run again, she may never escape, but Greg isn't willing to give her up so easily and he's not going to run from her father.
