About the author

My name is Martins Zaumanis and I studied at a second-rate university in a country that barely anyone has heard of. That did not stop me from earning a Ph.D. in the USA, and now I work as a scientist at a prestigious research institute in Switzerland. In this book, I will share the academic publishing approaches that made this journey possible

Writing was far from my favorite subject in high school so you can trust me when I say that you don't have to have talent to write a research paper. What you need is a trustworthy system and that is exactly what I offer in this book. It's called the "LEAP" academic writing approach and I designed it to first allow the author to understand the research results himself/herself and then explain them to others in a research paper.

When writing the second part of the book, I was thinking of time-traveling to an earlier version of myself. Back when I started my research career, knowing the principles on which academic publishing is built would have made my life much easier. Since time-travel is not (yet) a thing, I did the second-best thing and wrote down the advice so that your journey to professorship would be smoother than mine.
