The understanding of love, which accelerates the working of the machine called life, started in the Sangam period for the Tamils, while observing the social existence as a departmental life, has expanded to focus entirely on inner love. Love is based on the male-female relationship, which is forged through two different source emotions: separation-waiting. The Tamil tradition of poets who are passionate about love continues even today. Meanwhile, in outer life, love is constantly under scrutiny due to differences in body, milk, caste and religion. The damage done to love by the authority of the Vedic religion is immeasurable.
