At seventeen, Abraham Joseph dreamed of becoming an engineer, but God led him to Christian Medical College in Vellore, (India, ) where he trained as a doctor. His training took him to rural India where he saw poverty, disease and the harsh realities of life that the poor faced every day.

Whose responsibility was it to care for them? The words of Jesus echoed in his heart. 'Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.' Abraham could not turn away.
