This is a story of Krishnadas Shama, the earliest known Marathi poet from Goa and his Shri Krishna Charitra based on the Dashamaskanda of the Srimad Bhagavatam. In the year 1526 AD. Krishnadas Shama began writing his manuscript sitting in the original temple of Shri Shantadurga at Keloshi Goa. Within a few years, this temple was burnt down by Portuguese. fortunately devotees had shifted the idol of Shri Shantadurga to Kaivalyapur (Kawle).

This book is based on the oldest available copy of this Shri Krishna charitra, which had been transliterated into Roman script, which survived the oppression of the Portuguese regime and the persecution of missionaries.
