A comprehensive annotated bibliography of secondary sources on the Chilean novel, with bibliographical information on sixty Chilean novelists, from the beginning (Bilbao, Lastarria, etc.) until the so-called Generac on del 50 (Donoso, Edwards, etc.). Included are general studies, doctoral dissertations, and theses, as well as numerous articles published in scholarly journals. No other book grasps the often underlying ideological motivations of critics' judgments. The Chilean Novel will become an indispensable book for its wealth of information as well as for its unconventional approach to critiquing the critics.
