Published accounts of educational research in less advanced countries are not always detailed enough about Policy Research in Education, especially regarding research instruments and Data Analysis. This book is therefore aimed at meeting the professional needs of fieldworkers in Policy Research (in Education) and the reported research studies are concerned with how education policies work in practice. The specific objectives are: a) to highlight that the Policy process is multi-Tiered and progresses in Stages, b) to illustrate the diversity of research activities and procedures in Policy Research. The book presents the Summaries of five research studies which the author undertook in India, Turkey, Ghana, The Gambia, and Mali, respectively. The Summaries are organised chronologically and are presented in accordance with a particular format for Social Science research reports. A historical account for each of the studies relates how opportunities emerged for the author, for undertaking each study.
