Industry 4.0 and Business Process Modeling

AUTHOR Bag, Surajit
PUBLISHER LAP Lambert Academic Publishing (09/06/2019)
PRODUCT TYPE Paperback (Paperback)

Description
The study aims to investigate the effect of degree of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) adoption on 10R advanced manufacturing practices and closed loop supply chain performance. Secondly, to study the moderating role of I4.0 delivery system on the relationship between degree of I4.0 implementation and 10R advanced manufacturing practices and finally, to propose an automated business process for manufacturing firms. The theoretical framework is drawn upon Organization Information Processing Theory (OIPT); to explain the direct links between degrees of I4.0 implementation; 10R advanced manufacturing capability and closed loop supply chain performance. The theoretical framework is statistically tested using online survey considering samples from South African firms. The Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling approach is used to test the research hypothesis. Data sorting and data preparation is done and all parameters are checked before performing the path modelling. Finally, a sample business process is drawn to run simulation using Anylogic software and further evaluate the impact of I4.0 automation on 10R advanced manufacturing process optimization and CLSC performance.
