Award-winning poet David Henderson’ s previous books of poetry are "Felix of the Silent Forest," "De Mayor of Harlem," and "The Low East," He received a grant from the California Acts Council in 1002 for “ New Genre” writing and poetry, and has recorded a selection of his poetry for the permanent archive of the Library of Congress. A founding member of the Umbra Workshop and an editor of "Umbra" publications, Henderson was a co-founder of the "East Village Other," an alternative newspaper, and also a founder of the Third World department at Pacifica KPFA radio, Berkeley, Califonia. He has been a consultant-at-large to "Tribes" magazine in New York. He resides in downtown New York City.
