AUTHOR Pichler, Nadir Antonio
PUBLISHER Independently Published (10/13/2022)
PRODUCT TYPE Paperback (Paperback)

Description
The purpose of the book Themes of Classical Philosophy is to describe and analyze issues of classical philosophy that still raise interpretations and discussions, such as the different forms of rationality in Aristotle, issues of political philosophy in the antiquity of Plato and Aristotle, the skepticism of Pyrrhus, Hume's and Kant's criticism, happiness in the contemplative life in Thomas Aquinas, political philosophy in modernity, reason and sensibility in eighteenth-century German philosophy, traces of phenomenology and existentialism and notions of critical theory.
All these themes are addressed in an introductory way and presented in this order, according to the historical development of philosophy. There is no concern to establish epistemological connections between the themes and each text can be read separately, because it has a structure, with an objective, beginning, middle and end.
Every historical epoch has contexts, specificities and paradigms. The function of philosophy is to identify and understand reality, which presents itself in a dynamic and complex way. Through methods, technologies, theories and systems, scientists, philosophers and theologians, always in accordance with the paradigm of the worldview of their time, outlined ontological, epistemological and methodological explanations, which could be applied to different areas of knowledge, such as the topics covered in this book.
