Brad Kieser obtained a bachelor of science degree in computer sciences at the University of Cape Town. He started freelance software development while a student and has continued ever since. He's served as a consultant for numerous merchant banks and blue chip companies, including British Telecom, Deutsche Bank, J.P Morgan, and Alcatel. Kieser has been an Open Source advocate his entire professional career. He founded his company, Kieser.net, an Open Source-based Internet service provider, out of frustration with the lack of Open Source-based real back-end processing solutions at the dawn of the Internet.

Kieser.net provides white-label services to a wide customer base ranging from blue-chip corporations to independent techies. The company remains 100% Open Source throughout, and is standardized on the Linux operating system for both desktops and servers. Kieser's other business, SMS-Speedway.com, is now four years old and grew out of client needs for wireless communication. It enjoys several household names as its client base.
